Welcome to the Rat Nation USA blog. I hope to keep you entertained and informed. I hope you will return the favor and post your thoughts and creative ideas.

Rat Nation USA (currently being Ratdified© before it goes live) is a developing website that will feature custom and creative parts for your Rat Ride. I will be working hard to add new items on a regular basis. I have been putting together a group of creative enthusiasts, metal fabricators and artists to bring you all kinds of crazy-cool creations. Truly one-of-a-kind art pieces that will truly Ratdify©* your Ride. Currently I am focusing on Rat Bike parts but hope to add some unique things for your four-wheeled Rat Rod.

I am also working on creating some authentic Ratdified©* Apparel, so definitely check the site’s Apparel section — there is sure to be something you like.

What is a Rat Bike or Rat Rod? The Rat Bike is any bike that has been pieced together with various parts from other bikes, autos, and fabricated pieces. Color, style and brand have no bearing. It is the overall look that makes a “Rat”.

More recently, there has been a trend of deliberately customizing bikes into Rat Bikes, but this defies the organic growth into a Rat Bike that characterized them originally and makes them unique. Bikes deliberately distressed to look like a Rat Bike are sometimes derisively referred to as fake rats. Currently the “rat style” is also gaining popularity in car-customizing circles, though again in a misunderstood manner where vehicles are carefully decorated or modified to look worn with age — much like the distressing of furniture. Here are a couple of cool images I found on the internet.

Rat•di•fy© | |rat|də|fī |
verb ( -fies, -fied ) [ trans. ]
make partial or minor changes to (something), typically to make it less extreme, using new and used materials to make them look handcrafted, rough and unfinished. A term used in the building of a Rat Rod and Rat Bikes: he is going to ratdify his ride | [ as adj. ] ( ratdified© ) a ratdified version of a hot rod.

Thanks for visiting my blog, hope to have the site fully functional soon. Will let you know when it is.
